CFAN has become a leader in advanced composite technology through the use of Lean/Six Sigma methodologies as well as the implementation of High-Performance Work Teams (HPWT). With close to half of its engineering personnel graduating from Texas State University, CFAN relies on this relationship to keep bringing technological breakthroughs in the manufacturing of composite fan blades.
Strong customer demand along with technological innovation has resulted in CFAN doubling their workforce to over 600 skilled employees trained on these tools at every level. Volume has increased from 5,000 fan blades in 2009 to a forecast of 10,000 fan blades in 2014. To support this continued growth, CFAN has invested over $70M in both the latest technology and Safety equipment.
Safety and Quality have always been Number One at CFAN. Their safety program has been recognized by OSHA as a VPP (Voluntary Protection Program) STAR worksite since 2003. In addition, the Texas Department of Insurance has recognized CFAN’s safety program three times with the Peer Review Safety Program for “Excellent Performance in Occupation Health and Safety” in 2006, 2011 and 2013. General Electric and Texas Mutual Insurance Companies have also recognized CFAN’s EHS performance.
Being a part of the Community is also one of CFAN’s priorities through its group of employee volunteers which coordinates fundraisers, volunteer activities and allocates resources to support many local needs including the American Heart Association’s San Marcos Heart Walk, supplying stuffed backpacks to school children in need, various shelters, the food bank, meals on wheels along with many other worthy causes in the community.
CFAN is an investing partner of the Greater San Marcos Partnership and the San Marcos Manufacturer’s Association.
